Each Saturday from May through November, the farm takes produce and other local food products to the Clark Park Farmers Market in West Philadelphia.
This under-served area of the city has been identified by the Food Trust (
www.thefoodtrust.org) as an ideal location for a farmers market for local farmers bringing in fruits, vegetables, meats, cheeses and other local farm products. With the exception of this farmers market, this part of the city tends to lack high quality local produce and other goods. Supermarkets have largely moved out of the area only to be replaced by convenience stores that lack healthy nutritious food. The Clark Park Farmers Market is helping to fill that void.
Here, the farm is serving a diverse community and we are able to accept payment in many forms, including cash, food stamps and Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) vouchers from the USDA.
