Teen Battle Chef

Learn to cook with your friends!

Teens will work in teams to “battle” their peers as they prepare delicious meals from all over the world. Students will learn how to dice and mince, and how to understand and prepare recipes. Using the  freshest ingredients, some basic culinary techniques, as well as some sophisticated ones, students will build a firm foundation in basic nutrition, and healthy meal planning. Using their new cooking skills the two teams will have a final battle, with friends and family as guest judges.

"Teen Battle Chef changed the way I look at food, and now I am more confident in the kitchen"  ~Tim L.

Teen Battle Chef is a youth development program exploring culinary, food systems and gardening education, while battling obesity and chronic disease. The evidence-based curriculum, developed by FamilyCook Productions, empowers youth to challenge their skill sets while developing leadership, teamwork, and culinary skills. Teens gain nutrition knowledge and a new appreciation for diverse, healthy and sustainably-produced food. In addition, they learn about the food system and how they can play a role to help their friends and family make healthier food choices.
